Allow me to share a simple framework I like to call THE PATH TO ENLIGHTENMENT.
It’s a universal step by step process that, if taken seriously and executed thoroughly, can be used to transform any limiting aspect of your mind and, little by little, get closer to experiencing ultimate peace.
It’s simple but not easy. It’s a journey, a beautiful and priceless one. A journey bound to bring happiness to your life.
Here are the four steps:
-AWARENESS – Observe your thoughts without identifying with them;
-EQUANIMITY – Accept what you are thinking and feeling without blindly reacting to it;
-REFRAMING – Question your thinking and create a new empowering mindset;
-ACTION – Act on purpose from the new perspective regardless of your inner state.
By observing your mind, you become aware of the conditioning thoughts, the prejudices that cloud your mental vision.
By observing your body, you learn to stay with unpleasant emotions without blindly reacting to them. You realise that they are just bodily sensations and are transient in nature. As they arise, they also pass away.
By questioning your thoughts, you shine light over the limiting perceptions and beliefs that produce your suffering, and you practice creating and adopting new empowering perspectives and ideas that build you up instead of tearing you down.
Finally, by consciously acting on purpose from the new mindset, you generate evidence that the transformation brings contentment, peace and satisfaction to your life. Which helps the mind to get grounded in this new thinking.
